The Role

Due to continued, managed growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our busy Civil and Environmental Engineering team in our Newcastle office, based in Charlestown. You will be joining an industry-leading team and will have the opportunity to contribute to wide-ranging, technically challenging projects.

Our team delivers various types of projects across urban renewal / development and municipal infrastructure (earthworks, stormwater, sewer, water, pavements and road design, among others).

As part of our growing team, you will have a design role to assist in the preparation of engineering investigation, assessment, and design and construction management across a range of sectors.

We typically work across projects covering: residential, commercial, retail, residential and land release, light industrial, institutional, road and intersections, ageing and health, flood investigation, and policy development. Working with a diverse client base and responding efficiently to client's needs, you will be responsible for delivering various challenging projects concurrently, in a quality, cost effective and efficient manner.

The Candidate

  • Early-intermediate level experience as a consulting civil engineer, with experience in preparing detailed design and documentation of roads, intersections, pavements, earthworks, stormwater drainage, flood analysis, sewer and water reticulation. Experience in residential, light industrial and commercial fields is preferred. (Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply).
  • Ability to be highly productive with periodic direct management.
  • Accountability to set goals and drive to their fulfilment.
  • Excellent communication skills - Able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly.
  • Creative problem solving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles.
  • Strong team ethic to work collaboratively across functional groups.
