Senior Diagnostic & Remedial Engineer

Job No: NOR289
Location: Parramatta, NSW

The Company

Northrop Consulting Engineers is a multidiscipline consultancy that has been established for 40 years. We have an open management structure and employ over 270 staff across eight offices in NSW, ACT, QLD, and VIC. You will be inspired by experienced professionals around you, and be exposed to a diverse and challenging range of projects.

We are an employee owned consultancy that grows by creating opportunities for our people to help build the business and their career. When you join Northrop, you join a team that will support you to excel both professionally and personally.

The Role

Due to recent growth and expansion within our wider Structural Engineering section, an opportunity exists for a Senior Diagnostic & Remedial Engineer to join our newly opened Parramatta office and develop a new service line for the Sydney Region.

A key role within our Structural Engineering section, our clients regularly require assistance with their assets and projects, requiring diagnostic and remedial engineering skills. You will be expected to deliver projects for Northrop’s existing clients and grow the business using your own drive and entrepreneurial skills. This role would suit an experienced engineer ready for a new challenge.

You will be supported in your new role by the structural management team and encouraged to actively develop your technical, business and management skills.

Key components of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and developing the Building Diagnostic group in Sydney
  • Delivering multiple projects concurrently in a quality, cost effective and efficient manner
  • Client interface and business development
  • Mentoring and managing less experienced engineers
  • Report writing and relevant business reporting

You will have the opportunity to take the next step in your career and develop to your full potential, alongside owners of the business.

The Candidate

This is a unique role and opportunity, and is not for everyone. We are looking for someone who wants to take control of their career and is able to successfully operate in a highly autonomous environment. Applications are therefore sought from candidates with the following attributes:

  • Proven experience and knowledge of the diagnostic engineering market, as well as an understanding of Australian standards and regulations.

  • Excellent communication skills - Able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly.
  • Creative problem solving skills to continually find ways to overcome challenges and obstacles.
