The Role
We are currently seeking applications for candidates interested in pursuing a Drafting Apprenticeship. This role will be based in our Mechanical Building Services team, in our Charlestown office.
Working with professional and experienced teams on exciting and prestigious projects, you will be provided with extensive on-the-job training and mentoring. You will develop skills in the latest AutoCAD, Revit and Engineering technology and gain vast experience as part of our Apprentice Draftsperson Program.
Successful applicants will complete engineering studies at TAFE, as part of an industry recognised apprenticeship. Along with an industry-competitive salary, all TAFE fees will be reimbursed for your studies (usually 1 day a week).
If you are completing or have recently completed your School Certificate or HSC and have an interest in pursuing a career in engineering, your future could be at Northrop. Mature age candidates are also encouraged to apply.

As the successful candidate you will possess:
- Computer literacy with a keen interest in technical drawing. Exposure to software packages such as AutoCAD and Revit while not required, is highly preferred.
- The ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm along with a passion for the construction and engineering industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
