The Role

Our Newcastle and Erina Civil and Environmental Engineering teams are experiencing significant growth, and as a result we are seeking experienced Civil Designers to join us. 

Our team delivers various types of technically challenging projects across urban renewal / development and municipal infrastructure (earthworks, stormwater, sewer, water, pavements and road design, among others).

As part of our growing team, your strong hands-on skills for design of roads, bulk earthworks and drainage will be complemented by the ability to effectively manage and communicate project requirements. To succeed in this role, you will be experienced in multidiscipline project delivery, utilising 12D modelling software.

The Candidate

To access the many opportunities available within Northrop you will possess the following attributes:

  • Upwards of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role is required, delivering roads, intersections, pavements, earthworks, stormwater drainage, flood analysis, sewer and water reticulation projects.
  • Experience in residential, light industrial and commercial fields is preferred.
  • The ability to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly.
  • Always focused on doing what’s right.
  • Ability to be highly productive with periodic direct management, as well as guiding and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • The ability to connect and find common ground, gaining personal and professional trust.
  • Creative problem solving, continually finding ways to overcome challenges and obstacles.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, working collaboratively with others including across functional groups.
