The Role
Our growing Building Services section is in search of an experienced Revit / BIM Leader with a strong track record of developing and driving change to help progress the longer term development of our BIM capability.
BIM Leader duties include;
- Developing and maintaining company Revit standards, content and documentation.
- Guiding internal project BIM co-ordination meetings.
- Managing and evaluating BIM-related software and hardware.
- Keeping abreast of latest BIM technology and integrating with current systems.
- Liaising with external consultants for matters regarding BIM.
- Being part of collaborative multi-discipline projects.
- Conducting internal training sessions and updates.
- Involvement in developing BIM / Revit guidelines in collaboration with other leaders across the business.
Drafting duties include:
- Production of documentation within the Sydney Building services section.
- Compliance of company drafting standards and quality procedures.
- Mentoring and technical development of staff in the building services drafting group, particularly in 3D Revit and integrated BIM.
As someone passionate about the development of the Revit / BIM software packages, you will have a proven track record of rolling out similar systems across a complex network.
In addition, you will also have a strong desire to train and up-skill Revit / BIM users, from junior operators through to experienced professionals, and be able to influence key stakeholders at various levels.
The Candidate
This is a unique role and opportunity, and is not for everyone. We are looking for someone who wants to take control of their career and can successfully operate in a highly autonomous role, as we undertake the strategic development of our BIM capability. Key attributes and experience required to be successful in this role are:
- Proven extensive experience in delivering large-scale projects of LOD 400/450 benchmark, across all disciplines (Acoustics, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics and Fire), working in design consultancies.
- Ability to perform clash detection testing on coordinated Revit models.
- Strong mentoring skills, particularly for less experienced staff with varying levels of industry experience.
- Strong team ethics with the ability to work independently.
- Enthusiasm along with a passion for the BIM industry.
- Excellent communication skills, able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly.
- Able to find common ground and gain personal and professional trust.
- Creative problem solving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles.
- Works collaboratively across functional groups.
