The Role

An opportunity exists fora Diagnostic & Remedial Engineer with 1-2 years’ relevant experience in the consulting industry to join our newly created Remedial team. A key role within our Structural Engineering section, our clients regularly require assistance with their assets and projects, requiring diagnostic and remedial engineering skills.

You will be expected to deliver projects for Northrop  under the support of the remedial manager and structural team and continue to grow the skill in building remedial engineering.

Key components of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting on-site assessments of construction works and building defects
• Structural rectification and strengthening to existing buildings
• Preparation of Building conditions reports & Dilapidation surveys
• Preparation of Building defects reports, SCOTT schedules
• Preparation of technical specifications for repairs
• Tender preparation, assessment and management of subsequent contracts/superintendence

  • Tertiary qualification in structural engineering or construction
  • Willing to learn and develop their skills in building remedial engineering
  • Relevant experiences in consulting/building industry
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • Have experience liaising with both clients and contractors in office and site environments
